This is the first child lor the young couple and also the first grandchild for ma-. ma-. ternai . grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Farrls Evans of Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Prothero enjoyed visits from members of Alene's family last week end. On Friday Douglas Bonzo spent the day with them enroute to Cedar City from his studies at the BYU. , J Mrs. Myrtle Abbott arrived home by bus last week after finally being released by her cl-tv cl-tv physician. Complication from her recent operation had prolonged pro-longed her convalescense. Mrs. Iras Jones has a new grandson, born last week In the Iron County Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith of Adamsvllle. The baby weighed seven pounds and four ounces and Is the first child for the young couple. Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Lund arrived ar-rived home Friday after the better bet-ter part of a week in the northern north-ern part of the state. Mr. Lund reported to his Salt Lake City physician and received the good news that his foot Is In good condition con-dition now. The Lunds visited the Keith Watters family In Sprlng-ville Sprlng-ville and were able to see the '.Sand In Their Shoes" production produc-tion at B Y U. Mrs. Annie Talbot and daughter daugh-ter Judy have gone to Salt Lake City for a visit with the Justin Fairbanks family. They accompanied accom-panied Arnold and Anna Mellor north on Sunday. Roy Orfoii arrived here on Sunday Sun-day to Join his wife and children who have been visiting with the Austin Bartons. Roy also brought his father, Oscar Orton of Parowan Paro-wan home, after the latter had been In Salt Lake City for a medical checkup. Following a week's visit here the imlly will return to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Susan Bettridge and her two small daughters, accompanied accompan-ied by her mother, Mrs. Clare Whitcomb, were in town on Sunday Sun-day to visit with the Jim Bettridge Bet-tridge family and to have the baby christened. The little girl was given the name of Ilclly Kathleen and the ceremony was performed In the Bettridge home with members of the Bishopric officiating. Great-grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Dally of Parowan, were also present. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Spencer have been over from Cedar City visiting visit-ing with family members. Mr. Spencer Is still convalescing from a serious heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Williamson and daughters have been visiting here with Edwin Williamson. They came from Las Vegas on Thursday to get Jeanette, who has been attending BYU. After spending the week end here and in Summit, they returned home again. Milton Robinson of Salt Lake City Is a guest at the James H Anderson home. Miss Georgene Thornton of Salt Lake City visited here last week with Mrs. Eda Thornton and Mr. and, Mrs. Earl Thornton. This week her brother, J. B. Is a guest at the Earl Thornton home. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robb of Salt Lake City were back In town for the week end. Their daughter daugh-ter Judy had been visiting In Cedar City for a week and they came to take her home. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LICENSE FOR CIRCUSES AND PEDDLERS OF FRVITS AND VEGETABLES, DATED JUNE 4. 1953. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Cedar City, Utah: Section 1: That Section 1 of the Ordinance Establishing A License For Circuses and Peddlers Pedd-lers of Fruits and Vegetables, dated the 4th day of June, 1953, Is amended to read as follows: A. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation either as proprietor, owner, manager, employee, or sponsor to conduct or carry on any kind of circus, tent show, carnival, merry-go- round, or equestrian exhibition without first obtaining a license so to do, and without first paying pay-ing into the City Treasury of Cedar Ce-dar City, Utah, in advance, the sum of $250.00 for each day's performance. B. That separate classification shall be established which shall be Identified as children's rides. That same shall be limited to rides for children under twelve (12) yeus of age and shall be r . ' . . les made entirely of metal. That the license for same shall be $23.00 for the first day and thereafter same shall be licensed li-censed in accordance with the general licensing ordinances of Cedar City, Utah, and said first day's license shall apply thereon. That said license shall not be issued is-sued until arrangements are made to operate said rides entirely en-tirely on private property and until liability Insurance in the sum of $100,000.00 and $200,000.00 Is provided which shows on Its face that same is conditioned to protect and Indemnify Cedar City, Utah, against any loss or liability arising from said transaction. trans-action. Miss Mildred Hunt accompanied accompan-ied her brother, Bernell and his family, back to Stockton on Monday. Mon-day. She plans to visit there for two weeks. Sunday was a happy day for Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones because their son Mario was able to be with them for a visit. Mario was released from the hospital on Friday after being there for some time for treatment for bleeding stomach ulcers. He was In a serious condition for several days and was given five pints of blood to replace that lost In the hemorrhaging. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Manzione were here for the week end to get their small daughters and take J.em to Provo to live. The children stayed here with their grandmother while the moving and settling were taking place. Miss Beverly Mickle of Spring City accompanied the Manzlones here for the week end. Eugene Robb left for Salt Lake City on Saturday In order to Join his family. Gene has lived here for the past several years with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Robb. Horace Edwards underwent face surgery for skin cancer last week at the Veterans Hospital In Salt Lake City. He seems to be making satisfactory progress but subsequent operations will be necessary before he Is able to return home. Warren Smith had the misfortune misfor-tune to have his truck wrecked last week end. He had it in the hills to haul timber for excelsior and when an attempt was made to bring It down "Bill's Hill" from the Horse Valley area, it went out of control on a sharp turn and went over the bank. Driver of the vehicle was Garr Johnson and he was the only one in it at the time of the accident ac-cident and luckily was unharmed. unharm-ed. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Engle-I stead of St. George were In town for the week end.
