Show Hammond Family . Marks .., Iron Town Graves'1 -' NEW HARMONY On Mem-orial Mem-orial Day Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hammond motored to Iron Town to place a monument at the graves of Mrs. Hammond's two sisters, Mary and Annie Deuel, her father, Jacob, mother Sarah Woolsey Deuel; Richard Owen Woolsey, a half-brother, and his father, Martin Q. Woolsey. The children died of diphtheria In 1890. James D. Nellson and Emil Dostelak helped place the marker. mark-er. The graves were located with the assistance of Thomas Forsyth For-syth and Rober Piatt of New-castle. New-castle. A grave marked by a railing rail-ing was selected as the site for the monument, which was dedicated dedi-cated by Orson Hammond. The people so honored were members of a pioneer Utah family fam-ily which participated in many historic events In the early settlement set-tlement of the state. |
