Show POCAHONTAS CLUB Friday evening February 28, members of the Pocahontas Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Urie. Hostesses for the event were Barbara Shepard and Geneal and Geneva Anderson. During the get-together new officers wer elected and activities activi-ties and programs for the coming year were discussed. Working together to-gether as the newly elected presidents presi-dents are Barbara Shepard and JoAnn Slade. Vice presidents serving with them are Geneva Anderson and Thora Porter with Ruth Penson and Zona Corry as secretaries and Cecelia Lambeth and Lucille Graham as treasurers. treasur-ers. Reporters for the club are Yetta Jake and Claire Jones. At the Pocahontas social, the hostesses served delicious refreshments re-freshments and later Joined with the guests to complete the evening eve-ning in group singing. EN AVANTE Tlie settlement of Oregon as told in the book "A Finger in Every Pie" was the lesson topic presented at last week's En Avante Club. Giving the presentation pre-sentation the evening of February Febru-ary 26th was Claudia Forsyth. 17 members of the club met at the home of Ila Corry for the occasion. Mrs. Corry also Invited a guest, Mrs. Bert Nichols to Join with the regular group. BETA SIGMA PHI An outstanding lesson was presented pre-sented to members of the Beta Sigma Phi last Thursday evening at the new Chamber of Commerce Com-merce office. Giving the lesson entitled, "Have We Let Our Sons Down?", was Principal Rulon D. Woodbury of the Cedar City Jr. High School. In attendance at the February 27 meeting were guests, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Topham and Bud Bauer. Club members attending were Annette Bauer, LaRue Gardner, Lois Woodbury, Carol Brown, Lois Higbee, Shirley Haycock, Garfae Middleton, Jerri Bulloch and Barbara Mitchell. In Cedar City visiting this past week have been Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peterson from Farron, Ut. The Petersons have been guests of Mrs. Peterson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Manning. Welcomed guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Rhodes were son and daughter-in-law, I Mr. and Mrs. Larry Anderson. ' Late In February Mrs. Blaine Barney and family visited with her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Barney of Pangultch, and with her parents, the V. V. Jensens, of Richfield. |
