Show Cedar City to Host Jaycee Junior Bowling Tournament Cedar Bowling Lanes will be the scene Saturday of the Junior Jun-ior Bowling Tournament co-sponsored co-sponsored by the Utah Jaycees , and the Coca Cola Bottling Co. j The tournament will get underway under-way at 9 a .m. and the last squad is slated to roll at 3 p. m. unless it becomes absolutely necessary to continue beyond that time, Richard Cripps and Burnell Isom, chairmen for the Cedar City Junior Jun-ior Chamber of Commerce stated. Registrations are now being accepted at the Bowling Lanes. The tournament is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 18. Three divisions of competition are set up including includ-ing 10, 11 and 12 in the lower age group, 13, 14 and 15, the second group and the senior group to be composed of 16, 17 and 18 year olds. Eighteen trophies, now on display dis-play at the lanes, will be awarded award-ed at the conclusion of the tournament, tour-nament, six in each of the divisions. divi-sions. The Cedar City tournament is one of four being staged throughout through-out the state by Utah Jaycees. Entry fees for each participant will be $1.23 and each entrant will roll three games. The tournament is open to everyone. ev-eryone. It is not necessary that a handicap be established. Handicaps Han-dicaps will be determined during the course of the tournament but the method of handicapping will not be revealed in advance. The i formula for handicapping will be uniform for all participants. I Scores of winners in the Cedar I City tourney will be sent to the Jaycees and they will be compared com-pared to scores in the other three tournaments of the state. Based on the scores, state-wide trophies will be awarded. |
