Show College Student Is Chairman Of Easter Seal Campaign in County Andy Johnson, 19 - year old sophomore student at College of Southern Utah has been appointed appoint-ed as Iron County Chairman of the Easter Seal Campaign. The appointment was announced an-nounced by Robert R. Sonntag, Easter Seal chairman for the Utah Society for Crippled Children Chil-dren nd Adults, Inc. Johnson is from West Jordan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew An-drew Johnson of that city, and is majoring in English at CSU. He announced that a door-to-door campaign will be conducted conduct-ed in Cedar City on Wednesday March 11, with the Sigma Zeta Phi fraternitay and the Phi Alpha Al-pha Beta sorority on the CSU campus to make the canvas. The chairman announced that funds from the Easter Seal campaign cam-paign this year would be utilized at the rehabilitation center for both crippled adults and children, chil-dren, maintained by the Utah Society In Salt Lake City. In addition, he said, a special attraction will be provided. A portion of the funds acquired through the campaign this year Five-County Adopts Resolution on Water Editor's Note: The following is a resolution adopted by the Five County Organization at the Feb-bruary Feb-bruary meeting held in Parowan. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Five-County Organization, consisting of Coun- j ty officials and other persons from the counties of Beaver, Iron, Washington, Garfield and Kane, interested in the progress and development of the southern Utah area, as well as the whole State of Utah, are vitally interested inter-ested in the conservation, development devel-opment and beneficial use of the areas existing, known and op-tential op-tential source of water both for agricultural and domestic use, and, WHEREAS, said organization has given considerable thought and study to the water potential of both the Upper Sevier River water and the possibilities of the Central Utah Water Project as they may affect the Central and Southern portions of the State of! Utah, and, WHEREAS, said organization Is very much awaie of the work and assistance of the Utah Water . nd Power Board in ,the various water programs and projects throughout the State of Utah, and said otganization has gone on record re-cord is now soliciting the support sup-port and assistance of the Water and Power Board in making a study of the aforementioned sources and potential sources of water, NOW THEREFORE, the Five-County Five-County Organization respectfully requests that the Utah Water and Power Board set up a committee for the purpose of making a study stu-dy and subsequent recommendation recommenda-tion to the Water and Power Board and the Organization of the possibility of diverting the waters of the Upper Sevier River for use In Iron County and Garfield Gar-field County as the source and flow would necessitate or as may be advisable, with the view to exchanging water obtained from the Central Utah Project for the water diverted from the users of the Upper Sevier River. This Resolution being passed unanimously by the members of the Five-County Organization at a meeting thereof held at Parowan, Paro-wan, Utah, on the 15th day of ; February 1964. will be used to send a crippled child from Iron County to a summer sum-mer recreational camp. The program, he said, is two fold. Not only are funds being solicited to carry out the work of the society and the functions of the rehabilitation center, but an educational program is being carried on as well. 1 This is important because it is imperative that people become aware of the little things that can be done to help the handicapped. handi-capped.
