Stephens Steph-ens from Page, Ariz., won the "King and Queen" Handicap i Championship Charity Tournament Tourna-ment sponsored by the Iron j County Record and the Cedar Bowling Lanes recently. They, rolled a 1272 Handicap series I (1010 scratch) to win the fourth j annual "King and Queen" troph-1 ies and a cash award of $50.00. j Others placing for cash awards were: Ruth Gras Duke Gordon, Cedar Ce-dar City, 1258 series, $30,00. Effie Marler George Fetty, Cedar City, 1214 series, $20.00. Lynne Murray - Mike Hulet, I Cedar City, 1238 series, $12.00. I Lillian and Carl Hazel, Cedar City, 1233 series, $10.00. 1 Virginia and Clare Randall, Cedar City, 1231 series, $8.00. j The following six couples each won $6.00: Verna Llewellyn -Jack McCarty, Page, Ariz., 1225; Carolyn Sciortino - Hank Roush, Page, Arizona, 1224; Betty McCarty Mc-Carty - Hank Roush, Page, Ariz., 1221; Effie Marler - Logan Carr, Cedar City, 1213; Peg and Al Jensen, Cedar City, 1211 and Bette Lue and LeLand Duffin, Richfield, Rich-field, 1207. i The tournament was held at the Cedar Bowling Lanes the I past two week ends and the participation par-ticipation was good according to I Humbert Rosenberg, tournament Manager. Some of the highlights I of the tournament were: Mike I Hulet rolling 246, 221 and 212 for the highest series rolled by a I man in the tournament with a 679 scratch series. The high ser-i ser-i ies scratch for the women was rolled by Lillian Hazel. She had 212, 176 and 196 games for a 584 series. |
