Show Area Skiers Prepare Canyon Snow Trail A trail ski run has been developed de-veloped on the Cedar City ranger district of the Dixie National Forest, it was announced this week. ; Dr. Garth J. Chatterley, by permission per-mission of Foyer Olsen, district forest ranger, has promoted development de-velopment of a trail ski run 12 miles east of Cedar City. Efforts have already. been made by a number of ski enthusiasts to remove re-move the vegetation and debris from the proposed one and one-half one-half mile ski trail. The run begins where Highway U-14 passes around what is known as the "sand cuts" at the Junction of the Aspen Lake Lodge road. The course follows the main drainage leading to the campgrounds camp-grounds below. A gentle ending is provided in the east end of the archery range parking area. Plans are to have skiers park In the archery range parking area. Trucks will then carry skiers ski-ers to the top of the run and return to the . bottom to again haul skiers up after completing the course. Dr. Chatterley cautions skiers to ski in groups for safety's sake. Skiing on this run will be at the individual's own risk, it was pointed out. The run is not dangerous, but Higbee also saw considerable ac-could ac-could prove hazardous for the less experienced. Hopes are to provide a school later in the season sea-son to assist the less experienced. Interested parties desiring additional ad-ditional information should contact con-tact Dr. Chatterley. |
