Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING The usual influx of visitors was increased even more due to the pleasant November weather conditions. Friends and relatives of Cedar City residents Journeyed Journey-ed home to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones and many residents resi-dents motored elsewhere for the holiday week end. Among the recent guests to this area were Mrs. Daun Ann Bailey and twd daughters, Jeneen and Ranee" and Mr. and Mrs. Noel Sternberg Stern-berg and their son Kirk. Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Stronberg are daughters of the Frank Seamans. They enjoyed a brief visit with family members and a lovely dinner served Thursday at the Smoot Seaman home. At the L. M. Jones home, a tasty repast was served to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Jones and family and out of town guests, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Woodbury and children from the Salt Lake City Area and Miss Cynthia Jones who motored from Alhambra, i Calif, for the traditional festivities festi-vities of the day. Miss Jones was accompanied by Mr. Edward Jarvis from Los Angeles who Joined with the family group for a pleasant holHay occasion. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Southwick were pleased to have their son, Paul of Salt Lake City and Richard Rich-ard Southwick and his wife and family home to enjoy the sea sonal offerings. Particularly enthused en-thused about Thanksgiving shared shar-ed with their grandparents from their home in Bountiful, Utah. The Southwicks have also enjoy-ed enjoy-ed a brief visit with their daughter. daugh-ter. Donna and son-in-law, Robert Ro-bert Beckstead. The Becksteads arrived yesterday enroute to Las Vegas, Nev. where they plan to vacation for several days before returning to their Salt Lake City residence. Taking advantage of the long week end and the pleasure of a special occasion shared with family members were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gillies and children. child-ren. The Gillies traveled to California Cal-ifornia where they were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burk Detmers. Mrs. Isabel Gillies, Gil-lies, who Is now residing with the Detmers, enjoyed the amicable ami-cable atmosphere with her sons and grandchildren as they gathered gath-ered for the three-day reunion. Participating in the traditional goodness of last week's festivl- ties were Mr. and Mrs. Walt Mer-ryweather Mer-ryweather who motored to Gunnison, Gun-nison, Utah where they partook of the holiday feast prepared at the home of Mrs. Merryweather's sister and family, the Marion Snows. Greeting their parents at the Snow home were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Merryweather Jr. and their young son. The Walt Mer-ryweathers Mer-ryweathers were pleased to have their son and family journey on to Cedar City where they spent several days visiting. Ricky and Mark Turner accompanied ac-companied their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Turner from their home in Flagstaff, Ariz to Cedar City where they enjoyed a visit vi-sit with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones. Also visiting at the Jones home last week were Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Olds and their three children from Las Vegas, Nev. The families were delighted delight-ed to be together to celebrate and enjoy the 1961 Thanksgiving holiday. j |
