Show Iron Comity Fair Preparations Near Completion With preparations for the Iron County Fair, which will be held in Parowan on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Sept. 1. 2 and 3. now nearing completion, Arnold 0. Gurr, chairman, issues a call to all residents of the county to enter their best in the line of fruits, vegetables and farm crops and products from the home, especially es-pecially in canning and preserving, preserv-ing, handwork, sewing and arts and crafts from home and farm. Mr. Gurr emphasizes the fact that this is an Iron County exposition ex-position and urges residents from all communities in the county to place exhibits in the fair and also visit the exhibits as well as the other entertainment features which are" being prepared for everyone. A schedule of times for entering enter-ing exhibits In the various departments de-partments of the fair has been announced by the members of the fair board, as follows, with all exhibits to be on display In the gymnasium of the Parowan High School. Crops, vegetables and fruits to be exhibited must be brought in and set up by 9 a. m. on Saturday, Sat-urday, Sept. 1 with Judging of these exhibits to start at 10 a. m. Display space and containers for exhibits will be set up and readied read-ied by the committee, and members mem-bers will be on hand to receive and place the produce as it is brought In. Friday, Aug. 31 because of the time needed for arranging the ; displays. Judging of these ex-I ex-I hibits will commence at 1 p. m and will be finished before the fair opens Saturday morning. Exhibits In the arts and crafts department will follow the lam? schedule as the homemaking exhibits ex-hibits ! The flower show, to be held in connection with the fair calls for flowers to be brought in between be-tween 9 and 11 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 1, with exhibitors to furnish vases or other suitable containers contain-ers suitable for displaying the flowers. Workers and committee members mem-bers will be in attendance to receive re-ceive and catalog all exhibits tas they com? in, and will arrange ar-range the displays. Chairman Gurr reminds live-stockmen live-stockmen tht there will be no livestock department in the fair this year but that this department depart-ment will become a division of the Southern Utah Livestock Show which opens the following follow-ing Thursday In Cedar City. The fair exhibits will be open to viewers all day Saturday, Sept. 1, during the afternoon and evening eve-ning Sunday. Sept. 2 and all day Monday, Sept. 3. Special entertainment features of the big three-day event will be two afternoons of racing and rodeo . events, being staged for the fair committee by the Red Hill Wranglers. These programs are set for 2 p. m. Saturday and Monday. There will be a parade Monday morning at 10 which promises to be the biggest event of its kind ever to be seen here.
