Show Bock Club Meeting, Field Trip Enjoyed by Members The monthly meeting of the Rock Club was held recently In the science room on the CSU campus. President Parley Dalley presided over the meeting and introduced Professor Max D. Weaver Wea-ver who was the guest lecturer for the evening. Professor Weaver showed slides he had taken of the famous jewelry jew-elry pieces which were recently displayed at the Utah State University Uni-versity by the Metropolitan Museum Mu-seum of Modern Art. The club members found the slides of the jewelry in which the medium of silver, brass, ebony, ivory, mahogany, was used in combination with silver, very outstanding. There were also polished pol-ished stones set in silver, brass and gold. Most unusual of all the jewelry slides shown was that where the medium of copper enameling en-ameling was used. Following the most Interesting slide lecture, the group planned a field trip, which was later enjoyed en-joyed to the Iron Mines and vicinity. vi-cinity. The trip was felt very successful as the members returned re-turned with some unusual specimens speci-mens of Iron. |
