Show Supreme Court Denies Retrial for Mrs. Milda Ashdown The United States Supreme Court refused Monday to grant a new trial for Mrs. Milda Hopkins Hop-kins Ashdown of Cedar City, who is now serving a life sentence on a charge of poisoning her husband, hus-band, Ray Ashdown. Mr. Ashdown died of poisoning on July 5, 1955, and his wife was subsequently charged and was found guilty of poisoning him with strychnine in lemonade. An appeal to the Supreme Court of Utah was denied and her ator-neys ator-neys carried the appeal to the United States Supreme Court. Mrs. Ashdown is now serving her life sentence in the Colorado State Prison for women at Canon Ca-non City. |
