Show Junior Legionnaires Meet for Mound Battle Friday Friday afternoon on the Cedar City baseball diamond two of the top pitchers in the Junior American Amer-ican Legion ranks will be on the mound in a game potting Gary Anderson of Cedar City against Don Stethens of West Jordan. Both pitchers have recorded excellent ex-cellent records in legion play thus far this season and northern residents have claimed Stethens as the best pitcher in the state at the present time. Stethens has pitched In 33 innings in-nings this season, has collected a total of 45 strikeouts and has allowed only nine hits. Anderson has pitched in 23 innings, has a total of 47 strikeouts, much higher high-er than Stethens. but has allowed more hits to total of 14. This game will get under way at 3 p. m. Friday and the two Junior Legion squads will meet in a second l,atle Saturday afternoon af-ternoon begln.iin.i at 1. Both teams have rr..-t a mutual opponent, McGilJ, Ncv., and both clubs were beaten by McGill. However, coach of the McGill squad indicated that he felt that Cedar City had the better of the two clubs.
