Show Commerce Division Report Deals with Iron County Housing The 19G0 Census of Housing counted 3.269 housing units in Iron County, it was announced through a release from the U. S. Department of Commerce. The census report is from the 10 year census statistics taken in 1960. Of the over 3000 housing units 2,623 were reported in sound condition con-dition with all plumbing; 2932 homes were occupied and of these 2,102 were occupied by owners and 830 were occupied by renters. Average value of the owner-occupied owner-occupied places was $11,900 and the average rent paid in the county was $61 per month. Other information reported included in-cluded the fact that 3.065 had hot and cold running water; 2,958 had flush toilets and 2,953 homes were equipped with bathtub or shower. A total of 1.893 had basements; 56 of the homes were trailer homes. As to appliances the report in-(lieu in-(lieu lei that 121 households had air conditioning; 1.8G9 had television; tele-vision; 2.811 had radios and 2,519 had tele phone Installations. There were 2,393 reported with washing machines; 247 with clothes dryers and 915 with one or more home food freezers. Surprisingly 161 homes had three or more automobiles. 816 reported two automobiles and 1,678 had one automobile. I |
