Show Ethel Barrett Will Address Dinner Club 1 9 ETHEL BARRETT Members of the Escalante Knife and Fork Club will entertain enter-tain one of the. nation's most charming guests at their dinner meeting Monday evening, Jan. 15 at the College of Southern Utah Student Center, when they host Ethel Barrett, cited as radio's best story teller and the winner of the national first award "Best Story Programs." She was but 16 when she began be-gan a successful career In radio by appearing as an actress on Station WGY, Schenectady, N. Y. Since then she has appeared on dozens of radio programs and for two years carried on her own show in Albany. N. Y. A graduate from the schools of Schenectady, Miss Barrett engaged en-gaged in a career of nursing. .- l left her radio work to become be-come nvrrlcl and enjoy the raising rais-ing of two xr.z. In 1949, Miss Bar.ctt r?-c-tered the radio field. SI then her programs have been broadcast iiiiuugiiuui ihe United States, and many of her dramatized recitals re-citals have been carried over stations sta-tions throughout South America. In addition to having won radio's ra-dio's "Best Story Program" award, she also was awarded national first place for "Best Children's Film." Presently she Is writing a book, "Storytelling It'a Easy." |
