Show Chamber Calls Annual Meeting Tan. 12 Annual meeting of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce will be held Friday, Jan. 12, 1961 at the College of Southern Utah Student Center, it was announced announc-ed this week by Milt Jolley, executive ex-ecutive secretary. The annual event will Include a banquet and dance and will begin at 7:45 p. m. Results of the election for officers of-ficers for 1962 will be announced announc-ed at the meeting and a complete com-plete report of the past year's activities ac-tivities will be heard, Jolley stated. stat-ed. Guest Speaker Special guest speaker of the evening will be Robert E. Halla-day, Halla-day, manager of the Provo Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. ' Mr. Halladay has served as manager since 1953. Prior to that time he was director of public relations and assistant manager of the Provo chamber. The speaker received his bachelor's bach-elor's degree from the Brigham Young University In 1942, majoring major-ing in economics and sociology. Following graduation he served r- ; 1 IV ROBERT E. HALLADAY as district agent for the State Department of Adult Probation and Parole before association Willi the Provo Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, t Mr. Halladay has a long record rec-ord of achievement in chamber of commerce work. He Is a member mem-ber and oast president of the Utah Chamber of Commerce executes exe-cutes and affiliated with the national na-tional organization and Is a board member of the Western Institute of Chamber executives. For the past four years he was a member of the faculty for the Institute held annually at Stanford Stan-ford University. Active Churchman As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he has served as a bishop, member mem-ber of a stake high council and also served as a missionary In Brazil. He U a native of Provo. Robert C. Hansen, president of the Chamber of Commerce, will make his annual report to the membership in addition to a number of other reports of financing fi-nancing and activities of the organization or-ganization during the past year. Vying for the position of president presi-dent of the chamber for the 1962 year are Mr. Hansen, who has served during the past year of 1961, and Daniel B. Crawford, prominent businessman cf Cedar City. Vice presidential candidates are Dub Leigh and Farrell Peterson. Pet-erson. New Directors Four men will also be named to the board of directors for- two year terms. Candidates Include: Bud Bowman and David Berry; Ralph Ilafen and John Qulnn; Keith Averett and Richard Gillies; Gil-lies; Richard Manzlone and Clifford Clif-ford Williams. Balloting has been conducted through the mall during December Decem-ber and winners will be announced announc-ed at the meeting. |
