Show DUP Camps Prepare For City's Birthday The two Parowan Camps of the Daughteii of Utah Pioneers are now making preparations for the observance of Parowan's 111th birthday, Saturday. Jan. 13, It is announced by Mrs. May Benson, captain of the Elizabeth Camp, and Mrs. Twila Thornton, captain of the Paulina Camp. The all-day celebration will be held In the Parowan Third Ward recreation hall during the morning morn-ing and afternoon with a drama presentation in the evening In the high school auditorium. ' The day's program will commence com-mence with a pioneer meeting at 11 a. m. under the direction of the Little Salt Lake chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. This will be followed by family group luncheons at noon in the recreation hall end of the ward chapel with all citizens urged to participate. The DUP camps will furnish hot chocolate for those who bring their lunch for thif hour, the officers state. During the afternoon a program pro-gram will be presented by the two DUP camp members In the recreation hall. In the evening th play "Lena Rivers" will be presented by a local cast of players, directed by Mrs. Jean Hendrickson, assistc by Mrs. Bess Miller. The openinr curtain will be at 8 p. m. and the public Is invited to attend. In connection with th'' play Mrs. Hendrickson states ti.at two changes have been made In the cast of the play, as announced a few weeks ago In these columns. col-umns. The part of Mrs. Livingstone Livings-tone In the play will now be taken ta-ken by Mrs. Joan Wheatley in stead of Mrs. Miriam Moore, and the part of Carolyn Livingstone, formerly given to Ruth Lyman Jensen, will be taken by Mrs. Don Applegate. |
