Show Funeral Services Held for Cedar City Resident Funeral services were held in the Cedar Fifth Ward Chapel Wednesday afternoon for William Wil-liam Lapworth Melting, 63, prominent farmer and livestock-man livestock-man of Cedar City. Mr. Melling died at his home Sunday, Dec. 31, following a lingering illness. He was born In Cedar City on Feb. 26, 1875, a son of Joseph, Jr. and Sarah Jane Walker Melling, and had spent his his life here. On December 21. 1927, he married mar-ried Thelma Smith In the St. George Temple. He was a veteran veter-an of World War I. Survivors include his widow, seven sons and daughters; Mrs. Craig (Marie) N?ptune, Douglas and Joe Melllnj, all of Cedar City; Allan Melling, with the armed forces at Denver; Mrs. Douglas (Joan) Grlmshaw, Boun tiful; Dee Melling, North Las Vegas, Nev. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, one brother, Ray Melling, Cedar City, and three sisters, Mrs. Emily Lamor-eaux, Lamor-eaux, Mrs. Ada Arns, Cedar City, and Mrs. Margaret Stubbs, Paro-wan. Paro-wan. Burial was in the Cedar City cemetery. |
