Show Literary Club Meets For Christmas And New Year Socials Wednesday, Dec. 20 members of the Parowan Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. Melva Barton Bar-ton In Paragonah for their annual an-nual gift box and Christmas program. pro-gram. The Barton home was attractively at-tractively decorated for the occasion, occa-sion, both inside and out, and gifts to be exchanged were piled under an attractively decorated tree. The program begin with the singing of Christmas carols after which club president Mrs. Arch Benson gave the thought for the Christmas season. A piano and organ duet was played by Mrs. Barton and Mrs. Lee Spencer, the latter a special guest for the evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Wm. Boardman read the prize winning story from the Christmas News and Mrs. Spencer entertained the group by play ing many old favorite and Christmas Christ-mas melodies. Assisting Mrs. Barton as co-hostesses co-hostesses and program leaders were Mrs. Gwen Jones and Mrs. Wilson Lund, who served the members a very delicious lunch with favors in the form of miniature min-iature Santas made from red apples ap-ples and marshmallows. After the lunch was served Mrs. Barton entertained en-tertained the group with music on the organ while the gifts were exchanged. The annual New Year's party and dinner of the club was held last Wednesday evening at the Bel Air Cafe, with the husbands invited to be present. A delicious turkey dinner we enjoyed after which the group played bingo and exchanged white elephant gifts as prizes. Committee In charge of this affair consisted of Mrs. Clair Hu-let Hu-let Mrs. Karl Mitchell, Mrs. Wm. Marsden, Mrs. Thomas G. Barton, Mrs. Charles F. Bentley, Mrs. Wm. Boardman, Mrs. E.
