Show I Legion Auxiliary Officer to loin Pilgrimage ' INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Special) planning to Join American Le-gnon Le-gnon National Commander Dan Daniel on the "Pilgrimage for Peace" to Europe in September is Mrs. Lona Watson, Cedar City. Mrs. Watson was married In 1917 one month before her late husband went into military service. ser-vice. He went overseas during the first World War with Battery D. 318th Field Artillery. 91st Division, Divi-sion, and was in the Argonne Forest when the armistice was signed In 1918. Now Mrs. Watson is looking forward to visiting the historic battlefields and cities of Europe I where he served. She has been an active member mem-ber of the American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary for many years. She was president of Cedar City Unit 71 of the Auxiliary In 1820 and 1927 and has held either an elective or appointive office every year since then. She was president of the "tah Department of the Auxil-lary Auxil-lary In 1952 1953, Utah national executive commltteewoman in 1953-1954, and is presently chairman chair-man of the Utah trophies and awards committee. The Legion's 1957 "Pilgrimacei for Peace" continues the tradition! of an official European tour by' the veterans' organization once each 10 years. Previous pilgrimages pilgrim-ages to Europe were in 1927, 1937, and 1947. National Commander Daniel and his party will leave New! York City Sept. 20 aboard the palatial pa-latial S.S. American. They will) spend four days in Paris, whe el impressive ceremonies have teen planned commemorating the founding of the American .Legion there in 1919. Other cities to be visited Include In-clude Nice, Rome, Venice, Lucerne, Lu-cerne, Heidelberg, Bonn. Amntrr-day, Amntrr-day, Brussels and London. The tour will return to New York City Oct. 29, aboard the Sv. American.
