Show Cedar City Television n : t " i With Strong Boosters Television for Cedar City took a step forward this week when new and more powerful booster equipment was installed by John Rowberry and his associates. Installation In-stallation of the new equipment has resulted in much 'improved reception in Cedar City. Reception Recep-tion on Channel 5, the only one on which satisfactory reception has been available, is now coming com-ing in very rstlsfactorily. Channels Chan-nels 2 find 4, which few people have been able to pick up on their sets in the past, are also now coming In reasonably good. This would indicate that with additional adjusting the reception recep-tion should be quite satisfactory. The question of legality is still somewhat in doubt, since certain steps are required before the Federal Communications Commission Com-mission will review the case. The results of the review, or course, will determine whether or not continuation of the booster serv-ice serv-ice would be permitted. In the meantime the county has asked for bids for the installation instal-lation of a booster system for the county. Certain stipulations are made in the call for bids, which is published on another page in this issue of the Iron County Rec. ord. The county commissioners ask for bids for the Installation with the stipulation that it must be FCC approved, that the entire county must be served, and that satisfactory reception be assured. The latter requirement1 carries a provision that a performance bond must be posted. Cost limitations limita-tions are also placed on the project. pro-ject. While these details are being worked out it Is assumed that the new booser equipment will be kept in operation, although It is not being done at the expense ex-pense of the city or county, but by those promoting the project |
