Show Two Unit Meetings Planned by flclive Voter League The League of Women Voters of Cedar City will hold the second sec-ond unit meetings in the bootstrap boot-strap theatre of the Branch Agricultural Ag-ricultural college on Tuesday, April 7. according to Mrs. William Wil-liam Burton, president. Unit One will meet at 10 a. m. with Mrs. Walter K. Granger as the discussion dis-cussion leader. Unit Two will meet at 7:30 p. m. with Miss Jennie Jen-nie B. Jones as the discussion leader. The study of the united Nations, which was started on March 24, will be continued. The question of what shall be done about international trade, with its special problems for Utah and the other intermoun-tain intermoun-tain states, will be discussed in the unit meeting on April 21 ana May 5. Mrs. Granger has been closely associated with national and international in-ternational affairs and with the organization and problems of the United Nations organization during dur-ing her stay in the national capital capi-tal while her husband was serving serv-ing in Congress and is well prepared pre-pared to lead discussions in the unit meetings. Miss Jones, member mem-ber of the commercial staff at the Branch Agricultural college spent two years in Trieste as a Foreign service employee of the State department. Under the United Nations the United States was responsible for the government govern-ment of part of Trieste. Returning Return-ing to this country, Miss Jones worked another year for the State department. This background as well as her teaching preparation and experience, qualify her as a capable discussion leader. Women who desire to get the facts about the work of the U. N. and to consider with others what can be done to make more effective ef-fective the work of the organization, organiza-tion, are urged to attend the unit meetings. Mrs. Max Whitney, international internation-al relations resource chairman of the league, has assisted the discussion leaders in planning the study. |
