Expenditures for capital outlay out-lay (purchase and Improvement of sites, new building construction, construc-tion, additions to old buildings, purchase of new school buses, and new equipment purchases) were $9,400,000 in 1951-52 compared com-pared with $7,700,000 during the 1949-50 school year. 'Auxiliary service expenditures during the 1949-50 school year wers $4,200,000, or 10.3 per cent of total school expenditures. Of these, the largest amounts were spent for school lunches ($2,600,-000), ($2,600,-000), and for transportation ($1,-200,000). ($1,-200,000). Other instructional expenses, such as free text books, educational educa-tional supplies and the salaries of clerical assistants, accounted for $1,600,000, or 8.7 per cent of total school expenditures. General Gen-eral control expenses were $948 000, and other miscellaneous expenditures ex-penditures were $lt100,000. |
