Show Three Parowan High Hoopsters to Leave School Ranks With the close of the basketball basket-ball season at the Parowan high school, one of the most successful success-ful in the past 21 years, we are reminded that three members of this year's squad have finished their basketball careers at the school. They are John V. Benson, who won all-state honors in last month's Class B meet at Provo; Melvin Mitchell, who won honorable hon-orable mention and a place on the all-Region Six team, and Milton Mortensen. These three have been on the squad for the past three years and will be sorely sore-ly missed 'in next year's play. Juniors on the squad who have been members of the first five this season are Melvin K. Hyatt, Tommy Dobrusky and David Or-ton, Or-ton, with Roy Benson and Gale Stolk as squad members. Benson has seen nuite a bit of action and all five are eligible to return for the next school year. Donald Stubbs, freshman, has seen some action this year, and Eric Clark and Donald Gurr, sophomores, will be back for next season's play. In addition to this a number of this year's B squad, which has played in games with B squads of other schools in preliminary pre-liminary games will give some of this year's first string members a run for their money next year. And In addition when the next school season rolls around the Parowan high school will be able to boast the best high school basketball bas-ketball court in the Region, and probably in all southern Utah. |
