Show Washington County Trek a Success For Cedar Rock Club About 20 members of the Cedar City Rock club enjoyed a most unusual and tremendously interesting in-teresting field trip recently when they journeyed into a little know area of Washington county, only a few miles east of Leeds. The group not only found a most attractive and interesting scenic area, but also uncovered some interesting pottery samples that had been decorated with melted silver from the Silver Reef area. Parley Dalley, president presi-dent of the club, commented that the rock formations in the area are some of the finest examples ex-amples of rock sculpturing and erosion of Navajo sandstone, and claims the collinear formation are equal to the famed "Devil's Post Pile" of central Utah. The group also visited the old Babylon mill In the area where , ore from the old Silver Reef mine !was processed in the 1890s. Colored slides, made on the ; trip, will be shown at the regular regu-lar meeting of the club to be held at the Branch Agricultural college science building at 8 p. m. Monday, April 6. |
