Show Guardsmen Invited j To Return to Korea by Mel Clow SFC M. L. Clow of Cedar City and a member of the 213th Field Artillery Battalion National Guard, who upon his enlistment expiration, joined the regular army, sends a report of his arrival ar-rival in Korea and his assignment assign-ment to the 213th FA Battalion again. According SFC Clow he is the first of the original organization who has returned to the 213th in Korea. He is at present a member mem-ber of the Headquarters Battery, apparently serving with the communication com-munication section. Quoting from SFC Clow's letter, on corresponding conditions he states "I arrived here the first of March and to say the least the batteries have quonset huts for mess halls and in comparison compari-son to the way we lived this is NUMBER ONE (meaning very good)." The 213th has received another an-other unit citation, according to i SFC Clow, for its action during 'October, 1952 near Whitehorse j Hill. He also states that the unit I may be converted to a larger type gun than the 155 mm howit-izer howit-izer that it is presently using. Guardsmen can take it as they like, but SFC Clow invites anyone any-one interested to join him, stating, stat-ing, "I surely miss the old faces that were once the 'Duce, Ace Trey' but would like to add that if any of you are ready to cnme 'back tc Korea you will be able !to get back in your old unit." Maybe, someone will take him up. As a matter of co-incidence SFC Clow stated that he made the Pacific ocean trip on the Gen. M. C. Meigs, the same ship that transported the original 213th to the Far East shores. |
