Show Ladys of Elks Hold Annual Election; Miller Chosen Head The annual election of officers was held at the meeting and social so-cial of the Ladys of Elks at the Elks club rooms on Thursday, March 26, with Mrs. Edward Miller, Mil-ler, named as president of the organization for the coming year. Other officers elected were Mrs. Carl Hazel, vice president; Mrs. Henry T. Stephens, treasurer; Mrs. F. D. Neilson, chaplain; Mrs. Lee Wo"d, reporter; Mrs. King Stevenson, historian; Mrs. Kenneth Clark, Mrs. Wayne Jackson, Jack-son, Mrs. Claude Smith, Mrs. K. M. Daley, Mrs. Virgil H. Bird, Mrs. Austin Benson, as member of the executive committee. Mrs. M. F. Burgess, retiring president, announced that the installation in-stallation of new officers will take place on Thursday, April 9. Following the election Thursday Thurs-day a program under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. L. R. McConnell was enjoyed by the members present. Participating in the program were the Misses Jackie Winter-rose, Winter-rose, Shanna Huntington, Jeanne Beal, Diane Nelson, Juanita Hazel, Haz-el, Mary Davis, Cynthia Jones and Lois Meacham. At the close of the meeting, luncheon was served to 42 members mem-bers by the hostesses of the month, with Mrs. Kenneth Imlay, chairman, assisted by Mrs. Jack Pace, Mrs. Francis Frye, Mrs. Warren Bulloch, Mrs. Murray Butler, and Mrs. L. R. McConnell. Door prizes were awarded Mrs. Lawrence Lowder and Mrs. Jack Strate. |
