Show Driver Licensing Now Under Highway Patrol In order to better serve the people of Iron county and southern south-ern Utah, the State Highway Patrol Pa-trol is setting up a schedule for drivers' license examinations and the renewal of licenses, according accord-ing to Sgt. Lorin Squires of the highway patrol. At the special session of the Legislature, the Department of Public Safety was created. The driver and chauffeur licensing department of the Tax Commission Commis-sion was placed in this department depart-ment and is now under the supervision sup-ervision of the highway patrol, rrooper J. Lowe Barton will be the examinging officer in this area. Exams in Cedar City during August, September and October will be from 2 p. m. to 5 p. m. every Friday, and 12 noon to 6 p. m. every Saturday. "It is hoped that the later hours on Saturday Satur-day will make it convenient for more people take the exams and prove a greater service for the public", stated Sgt. Squires. Exams Ex-ams will be given in the court room of the city and county building. In Parowan, exams will be from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. every Friday, except the first Friday of each month. The exams in Enterprise Enter-prise will be from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. only on the first Friday of each month. All applicants must appear at least one hour before closing time if they intend to take the complete examina tion. All applicants for chauffeur licenses must bring one photograph. pho-tograph. The highway patrol is asking all drivers to check their licenses li-censes for the expiration date. Renewals can be made any time within 90 days of this date. The ofiicers, at the above designated times, are prepared to renew licenses or help you in case of a lost license. New licenses are S2 and are' good for five years, Renewals are only SI and good for a five year period. |
