Show Utah Writers League Extends Invitation to Roundup Southern I'tah writers, members mem-bers and non-members of the League of Utah Writers, are in- i vited to attend the league's an-; nual Roundup this week end, Aug. lS-lli. in Ogden, at the Ben-Lomond Ben-Lomond hotel. Awards for the article, juvenile juve-nile story and adult fiction con-: test will be announced at the banquet, Saturday night, and for poetry at the poet's breakfast, I Sunday morning. Sidney Herschel Small, who has written exclusively for the, Saturday Evening Post the past i 15 years, with over 100 stories j appearing there, and E. Hoffman Hoff-man Price, author of adventure, western and detective mysteries, and an expert on the Orient, are two of the featured speakers. Other writers scheduled for the two-day roundup include Ethel Jacobson, nationally known for her light verse; Vesta N. Lukei, producer of lyric and comic poetry; poe-try; Martha McMillin, who has sold over 753 articles and stories to 177 magazines; Mary Knovvles Ogden author, who has sold five stories to the American this past year; Cliton R. Larson, BYU professor, pro-fessor, who teaches and writes epic poetry, and Moyle Q. Rice, who will give the inside dope on studying writing in universities.) |
