Show County Tax Levy Set at 6.2 Mills for 1951 The County tax levy for 1051 was set at fi.2 mills when the Board of County Commissioners met in Parowan Monday. This is 0.1 of a mill lower than the lvvy last. year. A slight increase, 0.4 of a mill was made in the county school tax levy, but a decrease of 1.2 mills had ben made in the State School levy, making a reduction of 0.9 of a mill in school tax levies le-vies this year as compared to last year. The county school levy was set at 13.8 mills as compared to 13.4 last year. This year's state school levy is 13.0 mills as compared com-pared to 14.2 mills last year, or a total of 2(5.8 mills for school purposes pur-poses in 1951 as compared to 27.6 mills for 1950. The school and county levy totals 33 mills, whereas it was 33.9 mills last year. The Cedar City levy was set at 26.3, the same as last year, making the total levy against property in Cedar City 59.3 mills. It was 60.2 mills last year. Parowan city set its levy at 21.0 mills, the same as last year, and the Kanarra Town levy remains re-mains at 4.0 mills. Paragonah town made a substantial reduction reduc-tion in its levy, dropping it from 14.0 mills to 11.0 mills. The county levy for this year is divided as follows: General fund, 2.6 mills; Road fund, 0.8 of a mill; Indigent fund, 1.0 mill; Hospital fund, 0.7 of a mill; Library Li-brary fund, 0.2 of a mill; Airports Air-ports fund, 0.2 of a mill; Weed eradication, 0.3 of a mill, and Drought relief, 0.4 of a mill. |
