Show State to Have First Mourning Dove Hunt This Season For the first time, the State's nimrods will have the chance to bag that fine migratory game bird the Mourning Dove. Pursuit of this bird has long been a "must" on the agenda of the hunters of many other states. The department this year asked for a dove season in eight of the state's counties. Previous inves-, tigation by department field men proved the supply of birds to be ample in these counties. They are: Juab, Beaver, Iron, Millard, San Juan, Tooele, Uintah and Weshington. The season has been granted' by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife service. Season dates are Sept. j 1 to 9 inclusive. Hunting hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Possession and daily bag limit is 10 birds. There is no special fee for this hunt. The regular game bird license or combination fishing and hunting license only is required. This bird is a migratory game bird, and Federal regulations apply ap-ply to the hunt. Sportsmen are reminded that their guns must be plugged. Not more than three shells are permissable in the magazine and chamber combined. com-bined. Sportsmen hunting this bird should also remember that it is unlawful to shoot from any vehicle or within 50 feet of any roadway. Department spokesmen ask that in this, as in all hunts, sportsmen respect rights of the private landowner. |
