Show Two Reservists Return to Homes Alter Serving for Past Year in firmed Forces Cpl. Bruce I. Decker and Cpl. Boyd L. Mitchell, two local men who have been serving in the armed forces for the past year, were given their releases from the service and arrived home during the week. Bruce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Decker, received his discharge at Ford Ord on Aug. 8. A member of the reserves, he was called into service last September and has spent the past several month in Korea. His wife, Mrs. Adele S. Decker, has been serving serv-ing as Iron County home demonstration dem-onstration agent for the past several sev-eral months, making her home in Cedar City. Mr. Decker returned to northern Utah after a few days at home to see about returning re-turning to the school teaching profession which he left when called into the army. Cpl. Mitchell has been stationed sta-tioned at Fort Lewis, Wash., since last fall when he was called into the army as a member of the reserve corps, and states that he is still in the reserve for another three years, to be called if necessary. nec-essary. His wife, Mrs. Vivian H. Mitchell Mitch-ell obtained employment at Olympia, Wash, near Fort Lewis to be near her husband while he was stationed there. Both came home together and Boyd will resume re-sume his work in the grocery business which he owns in partnership part-nership with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mitchell. |
