Show isoTime-' Selected for Presentation "Blossom Time," a light opera by Sigmund Romberg, has been announced an-nounced as the opera which will : be produced by the Music Department Depart-ment at the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college, by Professor Welti. The music for this opera is made up largely of melodies by Frank ! Shubert. ! Instead of presenting a grand 'opera this year, Professor Welti decided to give a light opera in the belief that an occasional change to light opera will be wel-; wel-; corned by students and towns j people. Since the primary object of these productions is educational the scope of their educational val-iue val-iue will be broadened by such var-I var-I iety. j There are twenty characters in : the play, eight women and twelve men. This gives a larger number of students an opportunity to participate In principal roles than is usually the case. Tryouts for the parts will be conducted throughout the week under Professor Pro-fessor Welti's direction. Chorus tryouts will also continue during the week. Music for the production produc-tion Is expected to arrive immediately immed-iately and Intensive training will begin at once upon all vocal and |
