Along this street the towns business is transacted, and here shoppers find everything from a modern grocery and meat market to a dime store operation. Fruita is a busy western Colorado town, and wants to grow more if the Chamber of Commerce can interest construction companies in erecting new homes which are now sorely needed. Fruita fs proud its educational facilities and boasts of a school program for its children, kindergarten, elementary, junior high and high school groups. All grades are housed in comparatively new and modern buildings, and a new junior high school will be completed soon at an overall cost of $350,000. The new junior high school will provide children with hot lunches and will have auditorium and recreational facilities. A lighted athletic field where a full program of sports is scheduled each school term was made available only last year. There are more than 50 fulltime teachers in employ of the district, supplemented by ten part-tim- e teachers. A full program of music and dramatics are taught in addition to the regular curriculum.
