Show USC defensive driving course offered in May The Utah Safety Council has a Defensive Driving Course in May. The eight-hour course teaches you a better way to drive in a program that's strong, incisive and memorable. You learn to recognize a hazard, understand the appropriate defense, and act correctly in time in bad weather, on country roads, on rush-hour rush-hour expressways, on urban sidestreets, with pedestrians, with cyclists and with fixed objects. Drivers who successfully complete com-plete the course receive a 50-point reduction off their Utah driving record, one time during any three-year three-year period. Individuals 55 years of age and older may qualify for insurance in-surance discounts after completing the course. Learn to prevent all types of traffic accidents, from nicks and bumps to fatal collisions, regardless of road conditions and the actions of others by enrolling in an eight-hour eight-hour defensive driving course scheduled in Salt Lake City on: Saturday, May 4 and 18; Monday, May 6; Tuesday, May 14; Thursday, Thurs-day, May 30. The course is held at Utah Safety Council offices, 535 S. 300 West, pre-registration is required.
