Show Giving helps us all The United Way reports that Davis County residents donated do-nated $732,526 to the charitable organization during its recent fund-raising drive, and we want to congratulate one and all. The campaign drew contributions from more than 8,000 county residents. Of the total donated, $690,273 came from employers within the county, $12,853 came from the Combined Federal Campaign Cam-paign and $8,900 came from the State Charitable Fund Drive. Another $20,500 came from other United Way efforts in the county. We want to mention the companies that gave more than $10,000 in combined employee-employer donations. We think they are well worth naming and you might want to say thanks next time you are shopping or doing business in connection with one of these establishments. They include: Albertsons Distribution Center, All American Gourmet, Allied After-market, After-market, Borden Inc.-Clover Club Foods, Chevron USA, Computer Com-puter Science Corp., Clearfield Job Corps, Davis School District, Eaton-Kenway and General Dynamics. Others on the list are Hercules, J.C. Penney Telemarketing, Mountain Fuel Supply, Phillips 66, Smith's Food & Drug Center Inc., Thiokol and Utility Trailer. Giving to help others brings satisfaction and happiness all around. We are proud of Davis County and proud of its residents. They proved themselves this time. That's for sure. |
