Show U. S. kids offered European care m With summer fast approaching, ; and for some, the end of the school 1 year, parents may find themselves in need of qualified care for their ', children. Three thousand Europeans, ages ; 18-25, are willing to assist U.S. families this year through AuPair in , America. AuPaii is a cultural exchange program in which the au pair stays in the home for one year and pro- vides 45 hours a week of child care. In addition to babysitting, the au pair may drive children to lessons, prepare meals and run errands. ! AuPair in America is a govern ment designated program and costs approximately $ 1 70 per week, which includes the AuPair's pocket money, insurance, visa, orientation and flight. Families are also responsible respon-sible for an education and telephone allowance.
