Show DATC 'Human Race' to be held Mav 4 grader at Clearfield High, Rachel is planning on entering again. Rachel enters 10 to 12 races per year and plans on racing in the 5K division on May 4. 'It was great last year. I'm on the track team at Clearfield High, where I run the 1600, the 800 and the 400. That training should help me to be readv for this race," Point "Human Race.' Barnes Banking Co, is sponsoring the school competition. The race will have four events appealing to all age groups-a 100-yard 100-yard dash for kids ages six and under, a half-mile run for youth ages 14 and under, a mile walk, and a 5K race. Pre-registration through April 30 is $8 per person or $35 per family. Late registration is $12 per person. Call 546-2441 ext. 349 for further information. All proceeds will benefit the DATC Turning Point Center, a center for single parents and displaced homemakers where support sup-port and career programs are available. r KAYSVELLE Winners and participants in last year's races at the Davis Applied Technology Center are anxiously awaiting the Second Annual "Human Race" to be held on Saturday, May 4. Jessica Norseth, age 7, of Kays-ville Kays-ville placed last year in two races the 100-yard dash and the half mile run where she won a first place ribbon. Because of her age, she is not eligible to participate in the 100-yard dash which is for kids ages six and under. But she is excited ex-cited about entering the half mile run again. "The DATC races were the first competition that Jessica ever entered. She's been in several other races since and has done very well. We think she has the makings of a distance runner, and she's excited to race again this year," reported Judy Norseth, Jessica's mother. Rachel VanKomen of West Point was a winner in last year's half mile race in her age division. Now a 10th Rachel stated. Darwin Hayes and Dew a in Jenkins of Bountiful and Center-ville, Center-ville, respectively, are planning on running again in the 5K. These friends run together frequently in the 60 plus age division. The 5K will be but a jaunt for them since they run an average of eight marathons per year. Both credit running with keeping them young, healthy and vigorous. The public can join these runners and several hundred others at 8 a.m. on May 4 at the Davis Applied Technology Center, 550 E. 300 South, Kaysville.
