Show Busy prep sports week ahead After catching its breath follow- Omg the end of basketball season, high school athletics' spring slate kicks into high gear this week with region contests getting underway. BASEBALL: Three of the four schools in Clipper Country open league play Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. C.ountiful visits Murray and Woods ' oss plays host to Judge Memorial O Region Six encounters, while jwmont begins its Region One campaign at Bonneville. Davis is idle with a bye. The 3A schools play again on Thursday with Bountiful at home against Judge and Woods Cross at West. On Friday, the 4A squads step to the plate when Roy visits Davis and Weber travels to View mont. BOYS SOCCER: The kick in the grass campaign begins Tuesday as Viewmont (4A) and Bountiful (3A) begin the defense of last year' s state championships. The Vikings travel to Bonneville Tuesday and host Weber Friday. Up the road, the Braves visit Judge Tuesday and entertain Tooele Friday. Woods Cross opens its season Tuesday night against West and follows it up with a road encounter at Murray Friday. In Kaysville, Davis has a bye Tuesday, but will play host to Roy Friday. SOFTBALL: All four teams in Clipper Country are scheduled to play twice this week. Bountiful hosts Jordan (Tuesday) and travels to rival Woods Cross (Thursday). The Wildcats visit Granite (Tuesday) (Tues-day) before hosting Bountiful on Thursday. Meanwhile in the 4A ranks, Viewmont heads to Bonneville Bonne-ville Tuesday and entertains Weber Friday. Davis has a bye Tuesday, but faces Roy Friday in Kaysville. BOYS TENNIS: Bountiful and Woods Cross continue Region Six play this week. The Braves travel to Judge (Tuesday) and Jordan (Thursday), while the Wildcats host Murray (Tuesday) and West (Thursday). TRACK & FIELD: Bountiful and Davis have region meets scheduled for Wednesday. The Braves are headed to Jordan, while the Darts visit Roy. |
