Show Bountiful Sharks make a splash a SALT LAKE CITY The ountiful Sharks competed last O weekend at the Pioneer League Meet at Cottonwood High School. Competing were Jacob Anderson, 10; Jamie Anderson, 13; Joshua Andrus, 13; Erin Blundell, 12; Kristina Evanoff, 13; Mary Gadd, 11; Tami Gadd, 13; Annie Parsell, 1 1; Ben Simmons, 14. Some of the swimmers' accomplishments ac-complishments included: In the 10-year-old age group, Jacob Anderson took first place in the 100 breast and 2nd place in the 100 fly. In the 11-12 11-12 year old age group: Erin Blundell took 1st in the 100 fly and 50 free. Mary Gadd took 5th place in the 200 free, 7th place in the 100 fly and 8th place in the 100 breast. Annie Parsell took 3rd place in the 200 free, 4th in the 100 back, 5th in the 100 fly and 7th in the 50 free. In the 13-14 year old age group: Jamie Anderson took 3rd in the 200 fly. Joshua Andrus took 3rd in the 100 breast, 6th in the 50 free and 7th in the 500 free. Kristina Evanoff took 4th in the 500 free, 5th in the 200 back and 7th in the 100 breast. Tami Gadd took 3rd in the 200 back, 4th in the 50 free and 6th in the 200 fly. Ben Simmons took 5th in the 200 back and 8th in 100 breast. The Sharks usually participate in two meets a month. Some of the swimmers will compete in the Junior Ju-nior Olympics in Logan the end of March. The Bountiful Sharks Swim Team is under the direction of Coach Lynn Robinson at the Boun- tiful Recreation Center every day from 4-6 p.m. According to swimmers, Robinson makes the workouts interesting, challenging and fun. Team members consistently consistent-ly work on perfecting strokes and building endurance. According to a spokesperson for the team, ''Swimming is for all ages. Joining the Bountiful Sharks Swim Team could be the beginning of a lifelong program of good physical fitness for your child. 1 ' Call the Bountiful Recreation Center for more information or come down and watch the Sharks work out. Better still, bring your child down to meet the coaches and get in the water with the other swimmers and give it a try. It will be an adventure you won't want to miss. |
