Show Springville man participates in huge air lift A Springville man was one of two Utahns who took part in a 10,000-mile air lift of the 101st Airborne Division to Vietnam, Vi-etnam, recently. He is Cap. tain Verl Diamond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Diamond of this city. The other man was Major Darrell Farmer, son of Mrs. Evelyn Farmer of Magna. It was the largest and longest aerial troop development in history, his-tory, according to report. During Dur-ing the time, some 10,000 troops and 5000 tons of equip, ment were moved from Fort Campbell, Ky., to Vietnam. Captain Diamond, who is a graduate of Springville High School and also of USU, Lo-gan, Lo-gan, is pilot of Cl-41 Starlifter. He is presently stationed at McCord AFB, Washington. His wife, Joan, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Henderson of Rexburg, Idaho. |
