Show 0!d eyeglasses can he used Lions Club notes Do you have old eyeglasses tucked away in your closet or dresser drawer? Don't throw them away, advises members of the Springville Lions Club. Lions throughout the State are making a concerted effort between now and February 17 to collect discarded prescription prescrip-tion glasses, to be sent to un-der-d eveloped countries throughout the world. These glasses are first shipped ship-ped to Lions International headquarters in .Chicago. They are then classified, repaired and shipped to foreign countries coun-tries where they will be given to people who need, but cannot afford to buy glasses. Boxes for collecting these discarded prescription glasses have been placed in several places of business including: Averett and Rowland Barber Shop, Aliens Market, Brookside Market, IGA Foodliner, Rex Drug, Rexal City Drug, SOS Drug and Springville Floral, or call any Lion Club member and he will pick them up, according to Ron Thorpe, chairman of the project committee and Arnold Ar-nold Roylance, chairman of the Sight Conservation committee. |
