Show Public invited to enroll in self-help class During a natural or man-made man-made disaster, or other emergency, emer-gency, medically-trained personnel per-sonnel might not be available to help an individual or member mem-ber of a family. That is why it is important that one of each family be trained in medical med-ical self-help, it was pointed out this week, by those in charge of the course now offered of-fered free of charge, each Wednesday, Wed-nesday, 7:30 p.m., at the civic civ-ic center. The classes are under direction direc-tion of Dr. James M. Nance, Lew Thorpe and Karen Ross, Civil Defense directors. A variety of subjects are being be-ing taken up during the course including, artificial respiration, radioactive fallout, shelter, treatment for burns, bleeding, shock, infant care and nursing nurs-ing care of ill and injured. The public is urged to enroll in the 16-hour course designed for everyone of high school age and over, to help people help themselves and others, in time of emergency, if a doctor is not available. The Soviet Union claims the United Nations has no right to accept any American request re-quest to debate the Vietnamese war. The Soviet news agency, Tass, noted that the war can only be settled by American Compliance with the 1954 Geneva Ge-neva agreement. |
