Show Devils travel to Am. Fork for Friday game Coach Hal Jensen's winless Red Devils will travel to American Amer-ican Fork for a Friday encounter encoun-ter with the Cavemen in hopes of coming up with a victory. Tipoff will be at 8 p.m. and will be preceded by a junior varsity contest at 6:15. Lose to Provo The Red Devils played the Payson Lions here last night in a mid week contest. The Lions Li-ons were expected to bounce back after losing to BY High in their game last Thursday. In their game with Provo, the Red Devils played good ball for the most part, but were no match for the Bulldogs who led throughout the contest. con-test. Despite the one man show put on by Steve Averett for the Devils, the Provo team kept well out in front. Averett Aver-ett hit 19 points and was the only Springville player to hit in the double figures. Drury with 20 and Hensen with 16 led the Bulldogs. Score by quarters: Springville 11 23 42 50 Provo 16 34 52 68 The mourning dove season will open September 2, followed follow-ed by openings of seasons on chukar, Hungarian partridge, forest grouse, and sage grouse on September 28. Wild turkey will start Oct. 5, and the pheasant phea-sant and quail hunts will begin be-gin November 2, 1968. |
