Show History, lesson given at DUP meet Members of Camp Spring Creek DUP met at the home of Mrs. Allie Goble Thursday afternoon af-ternoon of last week with Captain Cap-tain Goble presiding. She was assisted by co-hostess Violet Diamond. An interesting history of the pioneer coal mining industry in Carbon County, was given by Veloy Bailey and the lesson on three pioneer manuscripts, was presented by Josephine Con-over.. Con-over.. Mr. and Mrs. David Higgin-son, Higgin-son, who have been making their home at 578 Canyon Dr., have moved to Boise, Idaho, where he has accepted a teaching teach-ing position. Mr. Higginson graduated from BYU this semester. se-mester. Mr .and Mrs. Ted Haymond have returned to their home after a recent holiday vacation and visit with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dixon and daughter in Santa Rosa, Calif., and with a son, Dr. Richard E. Haymond and wife and family at Santa Ana. Daughter Karen Dixon, with, her little daughter, Ca-mille, Ca-mille, came by plane Sunday, from their home in Santa Rosa, to spend two or three weeks with her parents here, while her husband, Gerald, is taking a special training in San Francisco, Fran-cisco, relative to his work. Mrs. Lucille C. Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., is among graduate nurses taking a six-week's refresher course presently being offered at the BYU. She is also visiting her mother, Mrs. Mattie Crandall and brother, Leo A. Crandall and wife and family in Springville. |
