Show Funeral set in SLC for former resident Funeral services were held Wednesday in Salt Lake City for Parley Hafen, 79, a former resident of Springville, son of the artist John Hafen, who lost his life Saturday, March 6, in a car accident as he entered Interstate 15 freeway interchange inter-change access road, on West Center St. in Provo. Mr. Hafen Ha-fen made his home at 1633 Emerson Ave., Salt Lake City. He had been at Vivian Park, 1 Provo Canyon, where he own-: own-: ed a summer home and enjoyed fishing. Investigating officers believ-! believ-! ed the sun blinded Mr. Hafen I momentarily as there were no , break or skid marks at the . scene of the accident. He was born in Springville, , September 10, 1885 ,a son of . John and Cora Twede Hafen. He received his education here , and in Salt Lake City and was ' a retired contractor. He was a 1 member of the Elks club and 1 the LDS Church. ; His wife, Edith Buckley Ha-' Ha-' fen, whom he married in Pro-" Pro-" vo, died several years ago. They lived in Provo until 1934 l when they moved to Salt Lake City.
