Calvin has served as two-year two-year councilman in high school, vice-president of the Science Club and vice-president of the Athletic Club. He was student body president in junior high school. He has been president of the deacons and teachers quorums in his ward. He was a delegate to Boys' State and for the past three summers has been employed at Bryce Canyon. Can-yon. He plans to attend BYU and serve an LDS mission. Flood Tide More than 12,000 newspapers throughout the country have been sent "press kits" by publicity agents of the Administration's job corps Carol Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Jensen of Mapleton, with an A- average in her studies, was named as "Senior Class Girl Student of the Week." She has quite a list of extra-curricular activities, activi-ties, being a member of the Steno Club and Thespians, secretary sec-retary of the Pep Club and senior class representative. Carol was second attendant to the homecoming queen. She participatd in the Weber State College speech meet and took sixth place and was an alternate alter-nate for state in the regional meet. She took the leading part ' in a church play recently and 1 has won five individual church awards. Included in her future 1 plans is attendance at Brigham Young University, majoring in English. Calvin Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Bird, has an impressive athletic record being be-ing a member of the football, wrestling and track teams. He also played Junior M Men basketball bas-ketball and was a member of the all-stake team. He is co- |
