Show County reports on Springville R.C. benefits Utah County citizens received receiv-ed more than $50,000 in materials mater-ials and services given by the American Red Cross in 1964, cording to the annual report of the Utah County chapter re-1 leased this week by Taylor C. Burt, Springville, branch chairman. chair-man. "More than 3,000 persons in our communities are receiving such services as blood deriva- tives, emergency aid, volunteer help in hospitals and nursing homes, and valuable training in nursing, first aid, and water safety" reported Charles Sampson, Samp-son, county chapter chairman. The largest single benefit received re-ceived was 11,916 cc of gamma globulin given by the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Red Cross Blood Center Cen-ter and valued at $41,706. Distribution Dis-tribution in Springville was 952 cc valued at $3,332, and in Mapleton it was 204 cc valued at $714. Home service cases in 1964 totalled 228, with 18 of these in Springville. These included emergency aid to Utah County servicemen and dependents, with loans totalling $441.50 and 202 long distance and overseas messages being provided by the chapter for families in every community in the county. Over 90 inquiries were made for local lo-cal relatives into Alaska and other disaster areas during the year. Free training courses in safety safe-ty and nursing were provided by the Red Cross chapter to the following: water safety, 1430; first aid, 636; home nursing nurs-ing and mother-baby care, 396. Those trained in the loca: branch totalled 66.
