W Letter to the editor Coach sets good record Editor's note: the following letter was received this week by John F. Warner, father of Ron Warner, who has done an outstanding coaching job during dur-ing the past several years in the Bantam program. Ron's team was beaten by the Seventh Sev-enth Ward this year for the city championship by one point. A String Is Broken In 1959 the "20-30" Club of Springville entered a team of boys in the Bantam Basketball League. Ron Warner offered to be the coach. That year they won every league game. In 1960 the 20-30 Club under the same coach won them all. In 1961 each LDS ward entered en-tered a team in the Bantam League. Ron Warner was the coach of the Twelft Ward. Again they won every game. Every year since the Twelfth Ward has won every league game. This year the string was broken. With the result of 63 games won and 0 lost.. During the seven years 48 different boys played on the team and 96 parents were glad and grateful. This year two former members mem-bers of the team played on the Springville High School varsity team and it looks like, at this |
