Show Services held Wednesday for Thomas W. Jones Funeral services were held Wednesday at Wheeler Mortuary Mortu-ary for Thomas William Jones, 63, who died in his sleep Sunday Sun-day morning, at the family residence, res-idence, 316 East 6th South. Bishop Don Watts of the 12th Ward, was in charge. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Jones was born June 1, 1901, in Springville, son of Thomas and Sarah Lester Jones, He married Birdie Rich-ies Rich-ies November 8, 1925, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in 1958. He later married Orlean Woodhouse and she died in 1964. He was an elder in the LDS Church. He lived in Springville most of his life and spent a short time in the mining camps in Carbon County. He was employed em-ployed by U.S. Steel, Ironton Plant, until he retired in 1960. Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Thomas R. Jones, Grand Junction, Colo.; Paul Jones, Houston, Texas; Fred Jones, North Highlands, Calif.; Calvin and David Jones, both with the U.S. Air Force in England; Mrs. Jean Dalton, Rochester, Wash.; Peggy Jones, Springville; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Jones, Mapleton; George Jones, Springville; Richard Jones, Spanish Fork; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Mason, Mrs. Herbert Her-bert (Mary) Gabbitas, Springville; Spring-ville; Mrs. Martha Maloney, Salt Lake City. |
