Her parents are Walter and Eleanor Tom, Cedar City. Ranea Wall, a Paiute-Goshute-Shoshone from Cedar City. She is CEDAR CITY Miss Navajo 1981-82" Dolly Manson, will make a special guest appearance today at the sixth annual Inter-Tribal Princess Pageant at Southern Utah State College. Sponsored by the 85-member 85-member Inter-Tribal Club and the SUSC Multi-Cultural Multi-Cultural Center, the pageant will begin at 7 p.m. in the Thorely Recital Hall. The public is invited to attend the program free of charge. Five SUSC coeds will seek the title of Inter: Tribal Princess. Each will be judged by five contest judges, including Miss Navajo 1981-82, on modern and traditional talent. Along with Manson, judges are Virgil Johnson, John-son, a sixth grade teacher at the Cedar City Middle School; James Viasich, Indian history specialist at SUSC; Marguerite Lane, Paiute tribal chairwoman; and Anne Judd, a member of the SUSC Foundation and wife of SUSC Prsident Harl E. Judd. "The public is invited to attend the pageant, to enjoy the talents of Miss Navajo and the five girls running for Inter-Tribal Inter-Tribal Princess," said Nancy Begaye, Multi-Cultural Multi-Cultural Center spokesperson. The five contestants are: Launi J. Norton, a Shoshone-Ute from Midvale. A 1979 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Miss Norton is a junior at SUSC majoring in sociology with a minor in child development. She is the daughter of Donald and June Norton, Mid-vale. Mid-vale. Brenda Lou Thompson, Thomp-son, a Navajo from Kirtland, N.M. The daughter of Wallace anc Hannah Thompson, Kirtland, she is a 1981 graduate of Kirtland Central High School and is a freshman education major at SUSC. Lora Tom, a Paiute-Goshute Paiute-Goshute from Cedar City. Tom is a 1981 graduate hitermountain High the daughter of Grant and Jessie Pete, Cedar City. A sophomore nursing major at SUSC, she is a 1971 graduate of Kearns High School. Shelley Wall, a Paiute-Mohave from Cedar City. A 1980 graduate of the Adult High School, Cedar City, she is a freshman nursing major at SUSC. Her parents are Kenneth and Evelyn Wall, Cedar City. |
